There were so many companies making so many cases that this year’s CES that we decided to skip the commentary and throw them all into a gallery but then I started scanning the photos and ended up on Brickcase. And how can you not talk about LEGOs, phones and building?

First a quick rundown of the basics… which are just that… plastic molded body, a range of colors, solid rear-phone protection, no hindrance to charging / ports and a strange feel when you hold your phone but that’s all minor details compared to what this case does.

Brickcase is a platform. It’s not made by Lego but it certainly works right with them making your case as versatile as your building skills and creativity. Their booth was small but littered with designs from helicopters to creatures that just scream fun [see photos, then share photos].  It’s a simple but brilliantly awesome idea that certainly makes sense for anyone gets LEGO.

The case provides a thin bumper covering the sides so you can lay your phone on its face and hook in your latest build to show off around the… office. Of course it may be a better idea to simply lay the structure on top less the phone ring. A dinosaur probably won’t work great in your hand but it’s a fun case even without anything attached.

Brickcase runs for $24.95 online, at Amazon, ThinkGeek and others and comes in a 4/4s and 5 version.
